Code of Ethics

Code of Ethics — Digital News Point (24World Media)

Effective 10 October 2026. This code governs everyone who reports, edits, or publishes for Digital News Point. Breaches are treated as standards failures, not differences of taste.

Truth and verification. We publish what we have verified. Every news claim is attributed, checked against at least two reputable sources where the story permits, and framed with cautious language where evidence is incomplete. We never invent facts, quotes, people, or credentials. Desk bylines are honest newsroom identities; we do not create fictitious reporters.

Independence. Coverage is never sold. Gifts, payments, and favours do not influence reporting. Conflicts of interest are disclosed in the article or avoided. Advertising is labelled and separated from editorial.

Fairness. People criticised in reporting are given a reasonable opportunity to respond where practicable. We distinguish news, analysis, and opinion, and label each. We do not amplify unverified rumours as news.

Harm and decency. We minimise harm: no indecent or suggestive imagery, no gratuitous detail, care with private individuals, minors, victims, and grieving families. Health and science reporting states limits and never dispenses personal advice.

Sourcing and images. Sources are identified where possible; anonymous sourcing requires newsroom approval and a stated reason. Images must be properly licensed, relevant, decent, and captioned truthfully. Video uses official embeds with channel credit; we do not download or re-upload others’ video.

Corrections and accountability. Errors are corrected under the corrections policy, visibly for material changes. Readers can reach the newsroom through the Contact page. Standards concerns may be sent to the publisher: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, [email protected].

Artificial intelligence. Assisted tools, where used for drafting or production support, do not replace human verification, editing, and accountability. The named desk remains responsible for every published word.

Anonymous sources. We prefer named sources. Anonymous attribution is used only where the information is important, the source is in a position to know, and naming would create a clear risk. The reason for anonymity is stated in general terms, and the desk must know the identity even where readers do not.

Data, polls, and studies. Numbers are reported with their source, date, and method where known. Polls carry sponsor, field dates, and sample information where available. Studies are described with size, type, and limits; correlation is not reported as causation.

Corrections of others’ claims. Reporting what a public figure or company claims is not endorsement, but neither is it a free pass: material claims are checked, context is provided, and false or unsupported claims are identified as such where the evidence permits.

Separation of church and state. The business side (advertising, partnerships, services) does not assign, preview, or veto news coverage. Newsroom staff do not sell advertising. Contacts between the two sides about coverage are limited to logistics and standards.

Standards that apply to everything on this page. Regardless of topic, work produced or published under this page follows the same newsroom discipline: facts are verified before they are asserted, sources are identified or characterised honestly, company and official claims are attributed as claims, and uncertainty is stated rather than hidden. Where new information changes a published account, the corrections policy governs the fix and the note that accompanies it. Images, where used, are relevant, decent, and properly licensed, with licence records retained so that provenance can be demonstrated on request. Nothing is published merely because it is available, quick, or likely to attract attention; the test is whether it is accurate, fair, and of genuine use to readers.

Working with the publisher. All formal business concerning this page is conducted with the publisher, 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States, email [email protected]. Readers should identify the page and, where relevant, the article or campaign concerned in the first line of any message. The publisher does not discuss one partner’s confidential terms with another, does not disclose newsroom sources, and does not negotiate editorial coverage. Enquiries that respect those boundaries receive a substantive reply; enquiries that do not will be declined without extended correspondence.
