Privacy Policy — Digital News Point (24World Media)
Effective date: 10 October 2026. Publisher: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected]. This policy explains what information Digital News Point collects, why, how it is used and shared, and the choices available. It applies to this website only.
Information we collect. (1) Information you provide: messages sent through the contact form or by email (name, email address, message content), advertising and business enquiries, and privacy requests. (2) Information collected automatically: server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps), security logs, and standard analytics and performance measurements where enabled. Cookies and similar technologies may be used for essential operation, security, remembering preferences, and aggregate measurement, as described below.
How we use information. To operate, secure, and improve the site; to respond to enquiries and correction reports; to administer advertising and business relationships; to measure readership in aggregate; to detect abuse; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not use newsroom contact messages for marketing without consent.
Legal bases. Where applicable law requires a basis, we rely on legitimate interests (operating and securing a news site, responding to enquiries), consent (where asked for), contract (business relationships), and legal obligation.
Sharing. We share information only as needed: with service providers who host, secure, measure, or support the site under instructions; with advertisers in aggregate reporting that does not identify individuals; where required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a business transfer, with notice where required. Providers process data under their own terms and applicable law.
Cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working and secure. Preference cookies remember choices. Measurement cookies, where enabled, help us understand aggregate use. Browser controls can block or delete cookies; essential functions may not work without essential cookies. Where a cookie-preferences tool is offered, choices there govern non-essential cookies.
Retention. Contact and business records are kept only as long as needed for the purpose collected and legal requirements. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period. Correction records may be kept to preserve the published record.
Your choices and rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise a right, contact the publisher with sufficient detail to identify the material. We will verify requests proportionately and respond within a reasonable period. You may also complain to your local regulator.
Children. This site is a general-audience news service, not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information for marketing.
Security. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls and encrypted transport where available. No system is perfectly secure; do not send sensitive documents to the newsroom.
International readers. The site is published from the United States. Information provided will be processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate.
Changes. We may update this policy; the effective date will change and material changes will be indicated on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acknowledgement of the updated policy for site use.
Contact. Privacy requests: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, [email protected] (mark: Privacy Request).
Data in detail. Contact-form records: the fields submitted (which may include name, email address, subject, and message) and technical metadata needed to deliver and secure the message. Email records: the message and headers as received. Business records: correspondence, insertion orders, invoices, and licensing records. Technical records: server logs typically containing IP address, user-agent, requested URL, referrer, status codes, and timestamps; security systems may retain additional signals where abuse is detected.
Purposes in detail. Site operation includes hosting, caching, image conversion, search, and spam prevention, each of which may process technical data. Reader measurement, where enabled, is configured to report aggregate patterns rather than to profile individuals. Advertising delivery and measurement may involve cookies or similar technologies set by us or by advertising providers under contract; we require providers to honour the choices described in this policy.
Do Not Track and signals. Browser controls govern cookies at device level. Where a recognised opt-out signal is presented and honoured by our systems, we respect it for non-essential measurement. Essential security and operation processing continues where necessary.
Data sales and sharing, restated. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share newsroom messages with advertisers. Aggregate, non-identifying readership figures may be shared commercially.
Retention schedule. Form and email enquiries: retained while the matter is open and for a limited period thereafter for records and abuse prevention. Business and contractual records: retained for the relationship and as required for tax and legal purposes. Logs: retained for a limited rolling period proportionate to security and debugging needs.
Exercising rights. To make a request, identify yourself sufficiently, specify the data or processing concerned, and state the right exercised. We may decline manifestly unfounded or excessive requests as permitted by law. Authorised-agent requests must evidence authority. We do not discriminate against readers for exercising privacy rights.
Third-party embeds. Embedded videos and linked services load under their own policies when interacted with. Where feasible, embeds default to privacy-conscious modes. Readers who block third-party cookies can still read articles; some embedded players may require interaction.
Reading this document. Headings organise the policy and do not limit the text beneath them. “Personal information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual. This document should be read with the Terms of Service; in case of conflict concerning personal information, the more protective provision applies.
A note on newsroom material. Journalism involves processing information about newsworthy people and events. Nothing in this document prevents lawful reporting in the public interest. Private individuals who believe coverage concerns them should use the contact route in this document with specifics, so the matter can be assessed on facts rather than in the abstract.
Review. This document is reviewed when services, providers, or law change, and at least annually. The effective date at the top is the operative date for readers. Archived versions are retained by the publisher and available on written request where required by law.
Examples of processing. When a reader loads an article, the hosting system records the request and serves the page, images, and any consented measurement scripts. When a reader submits the contact form, the message is transmitted to the newsroom system, which stores it for handling and abuse prevention. When an advertiser books a campaign, correspondence and orders are stored as business records. When a reader exercises a privacy right, the request and our response are stored to demonstrate compliance. Each example involves only the data needed for that purpose.
Processors and location. Hosting, security, and measurement providers act on documented instructions and may process data in the United States and other jurisdictions where they operate facilities. We select providers that offer appropriate safeguards. A current list of categories of providers (hosting, security, analytics, advertising delivery) is available on written request; naming every sub-processor on this page would make the policy less, not more, informative, because providers change with operations.
Automated decisions. We do not use personal information submitted to the newsroom to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about readers. Spam and security systems may automatically flag or block abusive traffic; affected readers may write to the publisher for review.
Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising (restated for clarity). We do not sell personal information. Where advertising technology on the site could be characterised as “sharing” under broad statutory definitions, readers may use browser controls and any cookie-preferences tool provided to limit non-essential activity. We honour such choices for the systems we control.
Record of changes. Previous versions of this policy, with their effective dates, are retained by the publisher. On request, we will identify the version in force at a stated past date where records permit.
Complaints handling. A reader who complains about privacy handling will receive an acknowledgement, an investigation proportionate to the complaint, and a response explaining the outcome or the reason no action will be taken. Complaints that identify specific data and a specific right are resolved materially faster than general complaints, because they can be verified. Readers retain the right to complain to a supervisory authority regardless of the outcome with us.
Business contacts. Information about individuals acting for companies (advertising, licensing, suppliers) is processed as business-contact information for the relationship concerned. It is not added to reader marketing lists. Individuals may ask what business-contact information we hold about them.
Succession. If the publication is transferred, personal information held for site operation, enquiries, and business records transfers with it for the same purposes, and this policy (updated with the successor’s details) will govern. Readers who object to continued processing may exercise their rights with the successor.
