Peabody man charged with drug, firearm possession following domestic disturbance

A 37-year-old man from Peabody is facing gun and drug charges after an alleged physical altercation with his wife at their home Tuesday morning, according to the Peabody Police Department.

Peabody police were called to 4 Silverleaf Way at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic disturbance and after receiving calls from several “concerned citizens” about a physical fight at the address, according to an account of the call in the department’s logs and a police statement. Upon arrival, officers identified the two people fighting as Justin Dimichele and his wife.

After further investigation, a search warrant was granted out of Peabody District Court for the Silverleaf Way apartment based on the initial response to the call as well as a follow-up investigation and search warrant affidavit.

Following the incident, Dimichele was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a household/family member, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition in a dwelling, possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute, four counts of possession of a class C drug with intent to distribute, possession of class B and C drugs, two counts of possession of a class E drug, malicious destruction of property less than $1200, and receiving stolen property.

Another person, Yessenia Lisseth Qujada, is facing criminal charges as a result of the incident. Quijada, 35, of Methuen, is charged with assault on a family/household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and malicious destruction of property valued in excess of $1,200, according to the log. A summons was issued for Quijada, who was not arrested.

A spokesperson for the department could not immediately be reached to clarify Quijada’s alleged role in the incident.
