Manchester United could make a surprise swoop for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao at the end of the campaign, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Portuguese recently signed a long-term contract with the Rossoneri, but there are doubts over his future with manager Stefano Pioli unpleased.
Leao has netted three goals and provided four assists this term, but his performances have been below par over the last few months.
Pioli has voiced the same to the winger and reports claim that the mixed relationship with the manager could pave the way for his exit.
United are one of the clubs closely monitoring him and they have been touted to make a serious approach for his services during the summer.
Leao is bound to cost at least €100 million. United currently don’t need a left winger with the presence of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.
The former Lille man could be seen as a direct competitor to Rasmus Hojlund for the striker’s role. Anthony Martial could be offloaded.
