These Lynn Tech Tigers can swim. In the Lynn City Championships on Saturday, Tech (135) was victorious against Lynn Classical (93) and Lynn English (88).

“The meet was not decided by our top swimmers, but by all of our swimmers, having only been able to win four events to English’s five and Classical’s three,” said Tech coach John Hogan.

It’s true. The Tigers captured a handful of second-, third-, and fourth-place finishes.

Jazlene Ledesma, Keury Panaigua, Hunter Flores, and Alex Familia placed second in the 200 medley relay, while Jason Silva, Chris Iraheta, Isabella Celona, Devin Deleon followed in third.

In the 200 free, Chris Rodriquez placed third while Addisyn Brown finished fourth. Flores and Celona placed first and second in the 200 individual medley, respectively.

Johndeiry Cespedes (2nd) and Familia (4th) impressed in the 50 free, while Ledesma took first in diving. She was followed by Nathalia Ortiz in second.

Rodriquez (1st) and Cespedes (2nd) put on a show in the 100 free; Brown (3rd) and Hunter Carmody (4th) did well in the 500 free.

The team of Rodriquez, Panaiqua, Cespedes, and Familia took first place in the 200 free relay. Iraheta, Silva, Deleon, and Brown followed in third.

Panaiqua (2nd) and Iraheta (3rd) performed well in the 100 breaststroke; Ledesma and Silva placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 100 backstroke.

“This win comes from a lot of hard work by all the swimmers, as well as my assistant coach Richard Bucko, diving coach Don McKenny and trainor Johanna Walsh,” Hogan said. “The meet was fun and exciting, and I hope we can keep it going here at Lynn Tech.”
