LYNN — The Lynn Music Foundation is launching four new workshops this spring, designed for young people and adults interested in pursuing an interest in music.
Foundation Executive Director Edwin Cabrera said that all of the workshops are free of charge and are open to beginners.
“It was always a goal of ours as a foundation to not only promote local music but also hold workshops for local artists just to get them more opportunities to learn and develop,” Cabrera said.
The WMN x LMF Youth Songwriting and Performance Workshop led by Solmaria starts on April 1 and will be held every Monday after that from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. until June 17.
This workshop is for children from the ages of 12 to 17.
Keep Moving Forward: An Artist Development Workshop, which is led by Jay Moon, starts on April 2 and will be held every Tuesday after that from 6 to 8 p.m. until July 2.
The workshop focuses on branding and innovative marketing techniques for musical artists.
Limitless Academy: A Songwriting and Performance Workshop, led by Dionys, starts on April 3, and will be held every Wednesday after that from 5 to 7 p.m. until June 19.
This workshop is for any experience level and is designed to enhance songwriting and performance techniques.
Lynn Music Foundation’s Hip Hop Music Production Workshop, led by T.Whyte, starts on April 24 and will continue every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. until May 15.
The workshop focuses on the art and science of creating hip-hop.
All workshops are held in the Neal Rantoul Vault Theatre.
“Overall, what we’re trying to do with the Lynn Music Foundation is really create a way for local artists to work together, and to help create a music scene that we’re proud of,” Cabrera said.
