Chelsea have reportedly changed their transfer strategy on Romelu Lukaku for next summer.
The Belgian rejoined the Blues from Inter Milan last season, and he was far from convincing with just 15 goals in all competitions.
As a result, he was loaned back to the Nerazzurri this term. The Serie A outfit have agreed to pay his entire wages for the campaign.
Inter have plans to re-sign him on loan next summer, but Calciomercato claim that the Blues are likely to turn down their proposal.
The London giants spent a hefty £97m to sign him in the summer of 2021, and they prefer to sell him next summer to cut their losses.
The Blues’ hierarchy don’t want to continue loaning him as his transfer value could drop significantly as he enters the back end of his career.
It remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri will make a permanent transfer bid. It seems unlikely amid their ongoing financial problems.
