Minuteman’s boys hockey team escaped Connery Rink with a 7-2 victory against the Lynn Jets, but Tuesday’s Christmas Tournament came with some holiday heroics.

Riley Driscoll, a freshman at Lynn Tech, potted his first varsity goal. Salem High sophomore Anthony Alessi tucked the other Lynn goal, while Kyle Furlong dished out an assist.

The Jets play in Wednesday’s consolation game at home with puck-drop set for 4 p.m.

Rise and shine. In a post-Christmas, morning showdown between Lynnfield and Hanover on Tuesday, the Pioneers fell to 2-3 on the young season.

In the first game of the Michael Giordano Christmas Classic at Francis L. Murphy Skating Rink – gold alternate jerseys included – Aidan Norton tied the game in the second period.

Hanover potted the sudden death goal to seal it, however.
