Manchester United are prepared to part ways with Raphael Varane for £26 million amid interest from Bayern Munich.
The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order in the current campaign. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are currently the preferred centre-back pairing.
United head coach Erik ten Hag has been reluctant to play Varane ahead of Maguire in the right centre-back and does not believe he is good enough to operate from left centre-back.
This could pave the way for an exit and Abendzeitung claim that United are prepared to sanction his sale for around £26 million when the transfer window reopens.
Varane has reportedly had a break down in relationship with Ten Hag and the next few weeks could indicate whether he can redeem himself under the Dutch tactician.
United are currently nine points behind leaders Arsenal in the table with one game in hand. They must beat Everton on the road tomorrow to close the gap to the Gunners.
