Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana is back on the grass as he steps up his recovery from a serious knee injury.
The Frenchman picked up the setback during the pre-season tour and it was anticipated that he could be sidelined until March.
However, he is currently ahead of schedule. He is back in individual training and could be involved with the team pretty soon.
The news is a huge boost for the Blues, who have seen several injured players return to the mix over the past couple of weeks.
Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku have not played any part this season, but are likely to be involved from the weekend.
Malo Gusto and Levi Colwill are also fit after their recent short-term injuries and the Blues will be hoping to climb up the table.
Chelsea are currently 10th in the league standings with 16 points. They are already 10 behind the final Champions League position.
The Blues need a strong end to the year to stay in the UCL race.
