Manchester United and Arsenal have to wait until the end of the season in order to sign Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Frenchman was on the radar of the Red Devils during the summer transfer window, but they could not afford his signature.
With Harry Maguire refusing to leave the club, they did not have the required funds to purchase him from the French outfit.
It is now reported by Sport that Nice have decided to keep the centre-back until the summer following their superb start.
The club are currently top of the standings in Ligue 1 and they have high ambitions for the remainder of the campaign.
As a result, the Gunners and Red Devils will have to wait until the season concludes before vying for his signature.
Nice are prepared to sanction his sale for around €40m. Barcelona will receive 20 per cent of the transfer package.
Todibo has also been linked with Bayern Munich, but he is said to prefer a move to the Premier League in the near future.
