Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged the hierarchy to pursue a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi at the end of the campaign.
The Gunners bolstered their defence with the purchase of Jurrien Timber last summer. The Dutchman was considered as a brilliant signing.
However, he picked up a serious knee injury in his maiden appearance for the club, and he is now on the sidelines until the end of March at least.
It is now reported by The Sun that Arteta is keen on having Guehi onboard. He has been a huge admirer of the former Chelsea graduate.
Palace are unlikely to sanction his exit midway through the campaign and Arsenal may have to wait until the summer to land his services.
Manchester City are also keen on signing him, but Arsenal are aiming to repeat the Declan Rice trick by beating them to Guehi’s signature.
Chelsea currently have the option to match any future bids for Guehi, and that could be Arsenal‘s major challenge in the player’s pursuit.
