Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is considering his future beyond the current campaign, according to The Daily Mail.
The Senegal international started the season as the first-choice keeper, but lost his place to Kepa Arrizabalaga after a rib injury in September.
Arrizabalaga went on to shine for the Blues under manager Graham Potter and Mendy was only reinstated in goal when the Spaniard got injured.
Following the World Cup break, it is expected that Arrizabalaga will reclaim the gloves and this could pave the way for Mendy’s departure.
The former Rennes man has no plans of playing second fiddle at the west London giants and could consider a fresh challenge next summer.
The Blues already have a potential replacement in place. Gabriel Slonina will officially join the club from Chicago Fire in January 2023.
The teenager is regarded as one of the best keepers in the United States and could emerge as the Blues’ number one after a couple of seasons.
